jss2This is a unique course for graduate students who are seeking experience of professional performance in front of live audiences.  The advanced level of training covers the disciplines of acting, singing & voice, movement and dance at a demanding level. Within the disciplines, postgraduate classes include physical theatre, acting for camera, method in practice, detailed text and character work, advanced performance through song and musical interpretation, musicianship, repertoire, ballet, jazz, tap, stretch & strength and contextual studies,

Mornings are filled with intense training in Dance, Voice, Singing and Acting and Text Study.  Students will deepen their understanding and technique in these key areas of performance.  Professional skills are developed and the students work towards the West End showcase.

The rest of the day is occupied by rehearsal for a series of shows presented at the Academy Theatre and other venues in the South-West and, where possible, abroad.  The year-group works as a professional company, developing individual performance technique and company awareness and group skills as well as becoming experienced in all the technical aspects of high-intensity musical theatre performance in various venues.

Students on this course can expect to appear in at least six public performances, each running over several showings.
